Accessibility Statement

Fifth Element wants everyone to be able to browse, read and shop on our website, including people with disabilities. We are working to make fifth-element.co accessible in line with the Israeli Standard IS 5568 (based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.0, level AA) and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013.

What we have done

  • The site can be used with a keyboard only. Every page has a "Skip to content" link, and the element in focus is clearly outlined.
  • Product, collection and article images have text descriptions (alt text) in English and in Hebrew.
  • The Hebrew site is marked as Hebrew and laid out right-to-left, so screen readers read it in the correct language and order.
  • Buttons, icons and form fields have names that screen readers can announce.
  • Pop-up windows (Barry the shopkeeper and the Spin & Win wheel) can be closed with the Esc key or a close button, and keyboard focus stays inside them while they are open.
  • No sound plays on its own. Barry only speaks after you turn his voice on.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, animations on the site are switched off.
  • Text has sufficient color contrast, and pages can be zoomed to 200% without losing content.
  • The site works on mobile, tablet and desktop, in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox, and with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver.

Known limitations

  • Some parts of the site are provided by third parties and are not fully under our control: the checkout and payment pages (Shopify and PayMe), product reviews (Judge.me) and embedded content. We have asked for, and continue to check, their accessibility.
  • Some older blog content and product photos supplied by manufacturers may not yet be fully accessible. We are fixing these step by step.
  • The free reading tools (tarot, birth chart and others) are visual by nature. Every result is also given as text.
