Fifth Element

The Wish Wall

Write a wish to the universe and let it shine among everyone else's. Then send energy to a stranger's wish. What we give comes back.

Tip: start with "I am" or "I have", as if it is already true.

Keep it kind: wish for yourself or for the world, and don't include other people's names or anything negative. Wishes that break this are removed.

How to phrase a wish

The universe, like your subconscious, responds best to wishes that are clear, positive and felt. Five simple rules:

  1. Present tense. Write it as already true. I want a new job → I am happily working in a job that values me.
  2. Positive words. Name what you want, not what you're escaping. I don't want to be lonely → I am surrounded by people who love me.
  3. Specific, not controlling. Describe the feeling and the outcome, not another person's choices. I wish Dan would call me → I have a loving partner who chooses me.
  4. One wish at a time. A single clear wish holds more energy than a list.
  5. Feel it. Read it aloud and notice how it feels in your body. If it feels false, soften it: "I am open to…" or "I am becoming…".

The 7-day wish ritual

Make your wish here, then carry it for one week. Tick each day as you go; your progress stays on this device.

  1. Day 1 · WriteWrite your wish by hand on paper, in the present tense. Fold it toward you three times.
  2. Day 2 · LightLight a candle (gold or green for abundance, pink for love, white for anything). Read the wish aloud once.
  3. Day 3 · FeelSpend five minutes imagining the wish already true. What do you see, hear and feel?
  4. Day 4 · ActTake one small real-world step toward it, however tiny: a message, an application, a tidy space.
  5. Day 5 · GiveSend energy to a stranger's wish on the wall, or do one kind thing with no expectation.
  6. Day 6 · TrustHold a crystal (citrine, clear quartz or rose quartz) and say "This or something better."
  7. Day 7 · ReleaseThank the wish, then let it go: bury the paper, keep it under a plant, or safely burn it. Stop checking for results.
