The 2027 penumbral lunar eclipses
Three full moons in 2027 are penumbral lunar eclipses: the Moon passes through Earth's faint outer shadow. Greatest eclipse is at 23:12 UTC on 20 February (6:12 pm ET), 16:02 UTC on 18 July (12:02 pm ET) and 07:13 UTC on 17 August (3:13 am ET). The dimming is subtle and easy to miss with the naked eye. In astrology, eclipse full moons are often treated as stronger releases, so it's a good idea to keep these rituals simple and reflective. A simple full moon ritual you can repeat all year
- Clear the space. Open a window, light a candle or burn a little sage if that's part of your practice.
- Write it down. List what you're grateful for from this cycle, then what you're ready to release.
- Release. Read the release list aloud, then tear it up (or safely burn it).
- Charge your crystals. Many people leave crystals on a windowsill overnight under the full moon.
- Close. Drink a glass of water and go to bed a little early.
