The biggest astrology shift of 2027 is Jupiter leaving Leo for Virgo on 26 July, which moves the year's mood from heart-led self-expression to practical improvement. Around it, Saturn and Neptune spend the whole year in Aries, Uranus stays in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. Mars is retrograde from 10 January to 1 April, Mercury goes retrograde three times, and five eclipses peak with a long total solar eclipse in Leo on 2 August. There's no Venus retrograde this year.
An honest note: astrology is a spiritual tradition for reflection, not fact or prediction. The planetary positions are real astronomy. Use the themes as prompts, not promises.
About the times: dates are given for UTC and US Eastern time (EST, UTC−5, until 14 March, then EDT, UTC−4, until 7 November). Depending on your time zone, a shift can fall a day earlier or later than shown.
Jupiter in Leo, then Virgo (26 July)
Jupiter, the planet of growth and luck, starts 2027 in Leo at 26°, moving retrograde. It turns direct on 13 April (12 April in ET) at 17° Leo and enters Virgo on 26 July (UTC and ET), where it stays for the rest of the year. The first half favours creativity, romance, confidence and play. The second half rewards skill, health, good systems and being useful. Read more about the planet in Jupiter Energy.

Saturn and Neptune in Aries all year
Saturn (structure, discipline, tests) and Neptune (dreams, spirituality, ideals) both stay in Aries throughout 2027. Saturn stations retrograde on 9 August at 28° Aries and turns direct on 24 December (23 December in ET) at 21°. Neptune turns retrograde on 9 July and direct on 15 December, staying in the first degrees of Aries. Together they are often read as a time of building a new sense of identity and leadership, and of learning to turn inspiration into disciplined action.
Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius
Uranus spends 2027 in Gemini. It turns direct on 8 February and retrograde on 15 September, and its themes are change in how we communicate, learn, travel locally and use information. Pluto remains in Aquarius (retrograde 8 May to 18 October), keeping the long-term focus on technology, communities and collective power.
Mars retrograde: Virgo to Leo (10 January to 1 April)
Mars stations retrograde on 10 January at 10° Virgo, backs into Leo on 21 February and turns direct on 1 April at 21° Leo. Mars rules energy, drive and conflict, so the first quarter of the year is better for revising plans, healing old frustrations and rebuilding stamina than for forcing new launches. Mars returns to Virgo on 14 May and then moves through Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius and into Capricorn by 25 November.
Mercury retrogrades and eclipses
Mercury is retrograde from 9 February to 3 March, 10 June to 4 July and 7 to 28 October. See Mercury Retrograde 2027 for survival tips. The five eclipses are on 6 February (annular, Aquarius), 20 February (Virgo), 18 July (Capricorn), 2 August (total, Leo) and 17 August (Aquarius), and most fall on the Leo/Aquarius axis. No Venus retrograde in 2027
Venus moves direct all year. In love and money, that usually reads as a steadier year without the classic Venus "ex comes back" season.
