The solar plexus chakra is your inner fire — confidence, willpower, and the sense that you can act on your own behalf. Here’s what it means, the stones traditionally used to balance it, and a simple way to work with it.
An honest note: chakras and crystals are a spiritual and metaphysical tradition, not medicine. Nothing here is a health claim — it’s meaning and ritual.
What is the solar plexus chakra?
Known in Sanskrit as Manipura (“city of jewels”), it sits in the upper abdomen, above the navel. Its colour is yellow and its element is fire. It governs confidence, personal power, motivation, and self-worth.
Balanced vs. blocked
In the tradition, a balanced solar plexus is described as feeling confident, capable, and self-assured. When it’s out of balance, people describe feeling powerless, indecisive, or low in self-esteem — or, at the other extreme, controlling. These are energetic descriptions, not diagnoses.
Crystals for the solar plexus chakra
- Citrine — sunny confidence and optimism.
- Pyrite — willpower and self-belief.
- Tiger’s eye — courage and steady drive.
How to work with it
Place a yellow stone on your upper belly. Picture a bright golden sun there, breathe into it, and silently affirm: “I am capable. I trust my own power.” Naming one thing you did well today is a simple solar-plexus practice.
Your house, your energy.
